USAG Update

Good morning MAG Community,

Below is a message that will be circulated by all disciplines today, as well as posted to the USAG website. There are clearly many questions and moving pieces at the moment, but we are all doing our best to start putting things in place for the remainder of 2020 and into 2021. I appreciate all of your patience at this time, and know that as we get more solid information/answers I will pass them along to you. I would appreciate if all Regional and State Chairs please either post the message below to your websites or send to your membership. Also, please continue to check the USAG Coronavirus page for updates and various resources during this time, as it is getting updated daily.

Thanks and take care,

Jason

"With the postponement of the Olympic Games now official, there are a number of resulting impacts to our community, particularly around events that would have occurred this year, that are still unclear. We are working through contingency plans and hope to provide an update as soon as possible. But, we also know that any new plans will be tentative at best, until we have a better idea of how long this continuing pandemic will affect us.

We are in the process of exploring alternative dates for events that have been impacted by the Coronavirus and the postponement of the Tokyo Games. Specifically, we are working with the USOPC and the St. Louis Sports Commission to reschedule the Olympic Trials, once the new dates for the Olympics Games are set. We are hopeful that we will be able to hold Olympic Trials in St. Louis in 2021. We are also exploring rescheduling the 2020 GK U.S. Classic, 2020 U.S. Championships, 2020 USA Gym Champs and 2020 National Congress and Tradeshow sometime in July or August, assuming it will be safe and prudent to hold events at that time.

As you can imagine, working through the rescheduling of these events, and the details of each, is challenging and complex, so we truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate through this.

As soon as new information is available, we will share it with you."

Good morning, yesterday I spoke with the States Head of The Rhode island DEM as well as Governor   Raimundo about moving forward and opening up our gymnastics community and what steps will be necessary to reopen. After a lengthy conversation with the Head of DEM and the Governor I was given two templates to fill out that were created yesterday. These templates must be filled out as soon as possible so we can move forward in reopening our business again. If you would like a copy of these templates please email me at jpelletier1013@gmail.com Please share this with our Rhode island gymnastics community.

Thank you for your Time

Judging For Levels 4-7

Gymformation is a great tool for parents and coaches to see how gymnasts are judged now that we are starting our meet season.  It was created by one of RI's  own gymnast and judge from Aim High Aidan Giusti.

    Covid 19 Update

    Good afternoon MAG Community,

Please find two very important resources that USAG has put together regarding the reopening of gyms and the returning to training for coaches and athletes.

    1. Member club considerations for a safe reopening
    2. USAG reintegration to training booklet (attached)

Please feel free to distribute this information to your colleagues and members. A special thank you to Tom Meadows for his contribution to the reintegration booklet! I hope you all find these resources beneficial.

    Take care,

    Jason
